The Spring rally of the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club was held this weekend at Sewerby Hall in Bridlington.
The gathering was the EYTCC’s fourth event of this calendar year, and saw vehicles from a variety of decades come together under sporadic sunshine on the East Yorkshire coast.
From a Jowett Javelin to a Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R, there was a broad range of cars on show, though the term ‘classic car’ was held in loose regard.

Marie Gascoigne, Sewerby Hall facility manager, said: “We were blessed with the best weather of the weekend, and hundreds of visitors were able to view around 100 vintage and classic cars throughout the day as well as chat with their enthusiastic owners.”
Standouts included a Citroen 2CV pickup, two MG RV8s and a blue Jaguar E-Type – but these were offset by a controversial Opel Monza Cabriolet finished in white. The owner described it as a ‘marmite car’, and it certainly divided opinion.

Ms Gascoigne added: “The club is scheduled to return later on in the year with nearby Sewerby Fields hosting the end-point of the East Coast Run from Hull in June. And we’ve got a summer vehicle gathering taking place in August. “
A Morris Minor Car Club Rally is also scheduled for the same day as The Big Picnic event at the hall on Sunday, 18 August.
